The Grand (re)Opening

The Grand (re)Opening of the newly restored Old Stone Mill Museum was held on May 15, 2004. In addition to members of the Delta Mill Society and others interested in the re-opening of this beautiful mill, members of SPOOM (Society for the Preservation Of Old Mills) were on hand, having made a visit to Delta their 2004 "Spring Millers' Day".

Crowd A good Crowd - a very good crowd was on hand to show their support of the mill and to listen to the interesting speakers.

Paul Fritz - President of the Delta Mill Society welcomed everyone to the event. Art Shaw - Past President, thanked everyone who had made special contributions to the restoration project over the last several years. Elizabeth Robinson - One of the four original trustees of the mill when it was purchased for $1 from owner Hastings Steele in 1963 remembered those involved with setting up the society.

Refreshments - as is usual with Delta Mill Society events, a wonderfully delicious spread of refreshments and goodies was extremely popular with all those who attended the event. food
